Shell help!

Just came home from an extended vacation. Had a pet sitter for my Russian and just saw this. I didn’t see any previous threads with this much damage. I don’t know what happened! I’m calling the vet tomorrow - any ideas what I can do until they can see him? Looks like he’s really peeling.

OMG. This is awful. Looks like he was crushed somehow maybe a large dog or got run over as well! Hope you can take him to a decent experienced reptile vet. ASAP. Very sad.

old wounds have been left outside enclosure,(Maybe field grab) they will grow back is ok. As long is active and still eating

There's nothing a vet can do for the tortoise. This is a very old injury. Nature is taking care of it. There's still more to flake off. He's not in pain. He's not in any danger. It was not caused by the pet sitter.

Thank you! Poor guy. I’ve had him about a year - before I knew better not to buy from a pet store.

I was wondering where all the blood was. Weird.
