Hello, so I was told to get digital thermometer, so I set it up And the first picture is on the baskin side the temp looks ok but is it ok for the humidity to be 23? Also the second picture is on the other side of the enclosure on the cooler side with no heating or uv lights , the humidity seems perfect but can you please help me with this, this is my first owned tortoise and I want to make sure she’s perfect image.jpgimage.jpg

If its 102 way up there on the wall then it is much too hot directly under the bulb. Check your basking temp by laying that digital thermometer on its back directly under the bulb. Let it bake for a good hour. Raise or lower the bulb to get the temperature around 95-100. Alternatively, you can try a different wattage bulb, or use an in-line rheostat to dial in the perfect temp.

image.jpgi shut her lights off for the night, that thermometer is at the top of the tank directly under light. I saw a video where one should be too right under light and the other on the left side at the bottom on tank. What do you think I should do ? I put on flash on my phone so you can see how far the light is from thermometer and the basking area . She loves being inside her rock and I’m just trying to make it best for her !

Most of the care info given from most sources is just plain wrong. Been that way for decades. Pet stores are one of the worst offenders, but YT and FB are not much better. Here is the correct care info. Please give this a read through and then come back with all your questions. We are happy to help:

This was so beyond helpful thank you so much ! My only question , on both sides of the tank does the thermometer go on top or should I put them both at the bottom for more accurate temp
