Once I was fishing the canals on a road named alligator alley. It runs east and west across Florida. There was a alligator on the other side of the canal from me. I caught a fish and threw it over to the alligator. ( there are signs along the road that say don't feed the alligators)
Awhile later I was busy catching fish when I noticed the alligator was in the water, but on my side of the canal ooking at me. He was about 15ft from me. It didn't take me long to jump over the guard rail and leave that area.🤣
I would have been right behind you - or probably in front!!😧

When I holidayed in Miami in the early 90s my friend and I did a trip on an airboat through the Everglades. The man in charge of us was throwing marshmallows in the water to attract the alligators - I took some good pics when they came for those but I think they would have been happier munching on one of us passengers!

We tried to grow a tomato plant in Zola's conservatory - this was its whole crop !
It was big enough to make a whole meal in itself, but strangely,we didn't fancy eating it !!

Are you sure that's not an offspring of Audrey from the Little Shop of Horrors??
Be careful if it starts to demand 'Feed Me'! 😱

Good afternoon/evening all.
It's been a wet and very windy week especially today - lots of lovely rain - and more on the way for tomorrow.
Yesterday I noticed that my disused tv aerials that were fixed on a mast attached to my chimney stack had fallen and were lying on my roof. Luckily I managed to get a local company to come and remove them within a couple of hours and it was only 10 mins work for them but it cost me £130; with winds of over 40 mph forecast for today and the weekend I didn't have time to shop around. It could have cost me a lot more if they'd fallen on someone's car or on a passer by so it was worth that just for the peace of mind.

Lola isn't too happy about not going out today, he went to the door this morning, saw the rain and walked back to his hide and didn't try again. Just stomped around his room looking grumpy (as usual!) I'm just glad I'm not in parts of Europe with temps of almost 50C.

I have a busy social weekend ahead of me with a surprise birthday party for my sister's partner who is 50 tomorrow, and then on Sunday I am off to see the band 'The Who' performing their hits with an orchestra at the Badminton Estate about an hour away. I haven't seen them before and to be honest I doubt there'll be many more chances to see them as Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend are well into their late 70's now. I'm looking forward to it and hopefully the rain will have eased by the time they start.

I hope you've all been well this last week and that the weather is being kind to you.

Have good weekend TTFN

My cactus leather came today 😉it was shipped from Germany even though it was made in Mexico. It's really nice but not really like leather more like pleather. I figure the person that cut it either needed a bier or one less 😁at least they did a centimeter or two more just to make sure they didn't cheat me 😉😁🤗😭View attachment 358961
Is that cactus leather durable?

They said 10 years with proper care. It's nice I like it. I'd still rather have animal leather but it's harder work to sew. This stuff I could probably sew on my sewing machine. It's just a regular home sewing machine not an industrial one. I just got really intrigued because it's made from prickly pear cactus.

That's pretty nice that they are performing with an orchestra. It's funny how those 2 types of music intermesh so well together.

Thanks Ray, I'm sure we will.
Are you and Rose fully recovered now?
Rose's recovery seems to be on track. Seems that it worked also. Her pains that were leaving her right arm useless at times. The pain has been eliminated. I am doing ok about 2 weeks ago I was in the hospital again. This time wasn't pulamary but cardio. But I hope the changing of my medication helps.

You guys sure go through a lot Ray, glad to hear good news!

My Zenni saga continues with my filing a claim on Paypal.

The Zenni Standard;
1. Includes 1 lens being removable
2. Light between lens and frame
3. Such misalignment that frame cannot capture lens

This is the Replacement pair too!

Full disclosure; Zenni wants me to return both pairs for "inspection", then they want time to "make a determination" further dragging this out, seemingly intentionally. Upon receiving this news, I filed the claim....no more, they had 2 chances. I just want to end my relationship with them. They pretty much, suck to me.

How was the concert, Lyn? We're you rocking? Do they still play Pinball Wizard?
Ever since I was a young boy
I've played the silver ball.....

That's good news for both of you Ray, and I hope new or a different mix of meds will do the trick to keep you in better health.

The concert was fantastic thanks Jeff and we were very lucky with the weather, It was an outdoor venue and would have been miserable if we'd had the downpours that have been around recently.
I wasn't sure what to expect now they are 'mature' rockstars, but Daltrey still has a great voice and Townsend's guitar playing hasn't diminished with age at all. They had Ringo Starr's son Zac Starkey on drums and what a brilliant drummer he is - much better than his Dad. Pete Townsend's brother was also on guitar and the other musicians in the slightly extended band were very impressive too. They started off with the orchestra to do a selection from 'Tommy' (including Pinball Wizard), then the band played alone and did all their hits, and the orchestra came back for the last section of music from Quadrophenia. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
The support band was UB40 (not sure if they were ever big in the US) but they were excellent too.

Good morning/afternoon all.
I hope you are well and had a good weekend.
It's been cooler today and still windy, but dry, so I was able to do some work in the garden. I hope none of you are affected by the high US temps or floods I've been seeing on the news. My nephew in CA said it's 42C there so too hot for them to use their garden at the moment.
My weekend was hectic, but the surprise party was enjoyed by all, and the concert was wonderful. These days I'm not used to being so busy and late, on 2 consecutive nights, so I think an earlier night is on the cards tonight.
Meanwhile it's time I found something to eat so I'll see you later.

It must have been great to see them again - I would have loved to be there ! I liked them a lot, though my main favourite band was -and is - the Grateful Dead - and since there aren't too many of them left. I don't think I shall ever get to see them again. I did see them twice in London, many years ago,and that was magical. But at least the other day, I heard Bob Dylan playing my very favourite G D song- Stella Blue - which he did remarkably well.!

Now I have to look up UB40 just to see.😉🤗

Yes. I enjoyed UB40. I Especially liked that song and others by them. That's probably my favorite. We'll see. Utube was being a butthead.🥴🤗
I let temu send me notifications is all I can think of to cause all the crap. They have some things I want for Christmas presents 😁 so I'm not getting rid of them soon.
