Hi everyone,

I’m looking for tortoise table plans for my Greek tortoise. I’m not very creative or have much experience building things without plans, so I was wondering if anyone had plans available or could help me out? Thank you

Young Torts need an enclosed enclosure to help maintain a humid not saturated environment. This helps their shell growth and is beneficial to you for energy costs. Search on here for enclosure ideas. I bought a large enclosed vivarium ( Glass doors on front) and added a large extension on the back as they need Space to roam. Once larger you could use a bookcase on its back with no shelves! I recommend to line what you prepare we ith sticky back plastic to save the wood rotting and easy cleaning.

Ok! Would 6’x3’ work for him while he’s younger? I was considering using a greenhouse tent like this. When would he be old enough for a larger table? Thank you!IMG_9267.png

Yes, such greenhouse covers are often used. You can put it over raised garden bed, a converted bookshelf or whatever works for you.

They need higher humidity for the period of extensive growth (usually up to 3 years). However, later closed top can be useful too - if room gets very cold (e.g. 50s) or humidity is too low (in 20-30%).

Read through this one first -

Then, one of our members, LittleRedFootBigRedHeart, went through, collected and collated a lot of info from the TF site that makes it easier until you're more used to navigating the site. Keep looking yourself, but here are a couple of her pages that may be a quick help -
