I’m a little worried about my baby….he looks like he’s working to breathe a bit harder. Does anyone know if this is normal? If not, what can I do to help? Please no hate in the comments I’m a first time tort mom
This sounds as though the tortoise is having difficulty breathing. It could be a sign of an upper respiratory infection or possibly pneumonia. Have you noticed any nasal discharge? Are you hearing any noises when it breathes?he looks like he’s breathing really heavy while he isn’t in motion his front legs are going in and out and he is like gulping his throat it’s puffing out
No discharge, and no noises. I can hear an occasional puff of air when he’s in the bath but no wheezing or anythingThis sounds as though the tortoise is having difficulty breathing. Well, it sounds as though there is nothing wrong with the tortoise in that case.No discharge, and no noises. I can hear an occasional puff of air when he’s in the bath but no wheezing or anything
The "Puff of air" is most likely them exhaling quickly, typically as they pull themselves inside....No discharge, and no noises. I can hear an occasional puff of air when he’s in the bath but no wheezing or anything
