I understand, Tyanna. I've already had several snow storms this year. I like to grow a lot of vegetables too. My tortoise loves pumpkin and squash leaves. I bet you could easily trade those with people when the summer rolls around:) I've been experimenting more and more with indoor gardening, because I grow a lot of veg from seed. I'm about to start growing variety of grasses and edible flowers under my grow lights. I've also dug up dandelions and have them growing in pots:) We saved the pumpkin seeds from our Jack o lantern and will be growing mini free pumpkin seedlings to feed to my tort, because she likes the leaves so much. If I get a sizeable crop going, and plants are big enough at around the same time, I will totally hook you up Tyanna :D

Thank you! I have a few things growing indoors, too like cactus pads and seed mixes, I'm going to try pansies soon too!

That's really cool:) I grew pansies (well...violas which are basically the same) from seed last year. My tortoise really liked them also. Start them way WAY early, because I was surprised how long they stayed small and took a while to bloom. I think they're worth it and will grow them again, especially because they're pretty cold tolerant. My tortoise also really likes Snap dragon blossoms--which reseed really easily, so hooray for more free fun plants!

People actually already have been doing it right here:) This brilliant idea was thought up by Littleginsu who first posted the thread. I've enjoyed the goodies I've received and posted pictures on a previous page.

FUN! What does your rose of Sharon look like? And is it the Rose of Sharon 10' tree or is it more like the hibiscus shrub?
depends how you trim them. They can get really bushy if you let them go. They also seed & spreed real easy. I have probably 30 small ones on my property I transplanted last year from a relative :) rose of sharon tree.JPG

I really want to find some Hibiscus clippings since I can't find any organically grown!
I have like 32 hibiscus plants that just randomly popped up this year. These are just in my yard, no pesticides or chemicals so they word be safe for your tort. I usually pull them up and throw them away (never had a reason to keep more then my original plants) and I have seed pods full of seeds as well, I will send ya some if you want them. I'm not sure how the little plants will do in transport but I know the seeds will b fine. I started all my original plants from seeds, just threw them down about 4 yrs ago and have had them every since. Their just pink and white blooms, nothing exotic but the torts love them anyways. Lol.
