How often do you all feed Mazuri to your babies? I have a Redfoot and a Cherry Head. They absolutely love it, but I want them to have a balanced diet. I only sprinkle it on their greens and friuts about twice a week. I do notice that they eventually eat some greens and fruit these days, but they fill up on the moistened pellets first thing in the morning. Thoughts?

I feed it twice a week to my babies. One day is just the plain moistened Mazuri. Then a few days later I mix moistened Mazuri with either chopped up store-bought leafy greens or diced up prickly pear cactus.

Part of the feeding regimen is fine.
I'd say up to 20% wont hurt.
But Mazuri is one of those food items that tortoises....Especially young ones can get addicted to. And then they'll turn their noses up at other foods for a while.
If your RF is eating Mazuri and also eating everything else you're offering, you're doing fine.

I never feed my Redfoot just one item. I make a mix of things that I feed each week like this
IMG_20181014_173445365.jpgThis particular batch is Dandelion, kale, papaya, hibiscus leaves, mulberry leaf, grated squash, and soaked and mashed Mazuri. I wip up a new batch with different things every few days and I don't always add Mazuri. So technically my RF will have Mazuri everyday till this particular batch is gone but it's offered with a variety of other items.

That looks very tasty! Even for human consumption. :)

Before & after feeding (collards, papaya, cantaloupe, hard-boiled egg w/shell) IMG_5154.jpeg IMG_5155.jpeg ...juvi Yellowfoot (~4" SCL) has an aversion to anything green; looks at greenery the way I used to look at parsley - plate decoration. Going to start chopping greens finely and mix in with the fruit/vegetables and Mazuri. Only had this guy for 6 weeks and not sure what his diet was before. Weight is increasing weekly, just wish he was more fond of his greenery. Have tried arugula, kale, collards, dandelions, hibiscus leaves, but no joy. Will keep on...
