I have a small little question. Can the russian tortoise owner have an effect on how brown or yellow the tortoise will be? I've always liked the dark coloured shell of juvenile sulcata tortoises, and my current baby russian tortoise has a somewhat darker shell...but I was wondering if there...

I don't really know why, but sulcata tortoises look the most appealing to me... it's just their size that's keeping me from getting one! Does anyone know of any smaller sized tortoise species that has a relatively similar appearance to that of a sulcata?! Please and thanks!
