hi, sorry no new pics. my brother is still home bound. was wondering if my egg would have exploded or smell bad by now if its 140 days old now? just see darkness inside. i will keep it going but , oh brother what a wait. thanks.

I bet it is still good. I have had some go to 180 days!!! Hang in there.

hi tim/robin, thanks, i can always count on you. did your cake egg hatch? the one thats 2 weeks younger then my egg? i will keep doing what im doing and w a i t s o m e more. you sure posted some excellent tort. baby pics. glad your here to help. thanks again. lindy ps. what does dipause mean? anyone. thanks

Mine has not hatched yet either. Tick.........tick...............tick..................

Basically diapause is a term used for a state of non-development in the tortoise egg.

I have all my limbs crossed for that egg Momo(and now Tim/Robin too)-I'm getting uncomfortable:)

Sure it won't be long........

Be patient. I've heard that some cake eggs take a long time. You can try adding a little water to the substrate if you think it has gotten drier. A LITTLE. We're talking drops. And not on the eggs, but off to the side or something. Sometimes a little added moisture will stimulate hatching in other species. If the egg looks all dark, that is a good sign. I think you've got a baby in there. :D

If Tim says I'm wrong about any of this, listen to him over me.
