1st Flight

We like watching the Ospreys Nest
each year and to see the young chicks grow up and fledge. This is the first year I actually caught the moment that it left the nest for the first time. I sat there yesterday for over a half hour watching Mom screaming at little one to come fly to her to get this pic....too bad the quality isn't so great.
from the chick, mom is in the far trees at 8am. She appears white in the pic.

Baby left the nest& swooped right up and sat next to her looking for food. She did not feed him. I suspect after I left he got his first fishing lesson! It's all pretty cool to watch

Well, I'm always ready to admit a mistake( it builds character, right?)....i was wrong! That must have been one of the parents because I saw little ones in the nest today below two parents. They looked to be three weeks old or so , so we have a ways to go yet.
