Og, my melanistic read eared slider on the move on this cold day. May be hard to see. All the other turtles are buried in the mud while he's just cruising. I'm sure the water is warmer than air temps. I was gonna check, but if I'm keeping it real...I said to myself, "I ain't going back out there"

i've raised many exotic reptiles , all the years of keeping them warm, avoiding letting them get cold , worse yet wet and cold , it made seeing them active in below freezing temps quite surprising ....... you just don't get a good look at how active they can be at cold temperatures unless your actually keeping them ....... i'd see wild turtles basking on warm sunny days in spring here , but never imagined anything like i see in keeping them .......

Truly incredible. We often time humanize our reptiles, comparing them to us, and forget how truly resilient they are.
