A note for the petsitter

Just left a 'note' for my petsitter but it turned out to be an 18 page document of husbandry tasks which I am genuinely considered laminating and spiral binding for. Yikes! I never realize how much time and effort I pour into these animal until it is time to explain it to somebody else. Just thought maybe some of you equally crazy keepers may be able to relate this time of year. And don't worry I also left him a freezer full of vodka on a "drink as needed" basis, tortoise sitting at my house is not for the faint of heart

That's one reason why I never go anyplace. My daughter would pet sit, however the whole time I were gone, I'd be worrying about the animals.

That's funny. Make sure though the vodka doesn't get used until all the animals are cared for. Don't need a drunk trying to take the tortoise for a jog

I am so lucky that my SIL lives a mile down the road from me because she is my petsitter and she keeps torts and is a vet tech. I still left her a mini binder when we went away and left our hatchling Leo.

I made a detailed drawing of the enclosure, with labels of each feature and my tort's likely hiding spaces. The sitter is a zookeeper so he gave me detailed records of feces, food consumed, and other notes.

Jealous! That's amazing. My petsitter is well versed and 99% of my novel is probably redundant for him ( and he is good about sending pictures and videos) but I have never received an excrement report. An odd thing to be jealous of, yet here I am...
