I adopted a Hermann's over the weekend from Eden Tortoise Sanctuary here in Tx. He's sooo sweet but hadn't been very well taken care of before he ended up at the sanctuary. Beak very over grown, and was apparently a dogs chew toy :( but thanks to Eden he was examined by a vet, had his beak trimmed and no shell rott! He's had a rough life but he's a tough little guy! The rescue named him Spartan and it suits him so I kept it:)
Thank you to Rachel at the sanctuary who came to his rescue! She does an amazing job in rescuing these beautiful creatures and finding good homes for them.:)
Below are pics of Spartan. sorry, my finger got carried away on the uploading now I don't know how to delete the extra pics o_O

Congrats! I wish you both well! :D

He's very handsome...in that rugged, outdoor tortoise way...;)

awesome for Spartan! I have Russians and a Hermann and it is neat to watch the differences between them.
