Finally! We have a spot with mostly morning sun and afternoon shade all picked out for Lola's outdoor pen. It is 8 ft wide at the widest spot and 3 ft at the narrowest spot. It is also 9 ft long. I have looked at some other posts for advice and hopefully have everything..
This is what I have so far:
2 ft tall wooden planks
wire for the top
gardener's underground mesh

What am I missing??

Thank you!

Sounds good, you want spots with direct sunlight, and you want some shade parts so it can cool down :)

You are ready to proceed! Make sure you excavate out any grass. If the soil is well drained, just loosen it up.
If the soil is poorly drained, consider backfilling over your ground wire with a couple of inches of gravel first, then topsoil.

Sounds like a great size!

Im actually using a picture of someone else's enclosure I saw on here. It 12 ft long and 4 ft wide. The only problem is Im building it directly on the ground... so how do I keep her from getting out? And if I use like some type of mesh on the bottom, how much soil should I use to fill it back up?

Thanks!!

What are you using to make the walls? Can you just bury them down a little ways?

I would bury the wood a little just to be safe and add soil only a few inches up, helps with water drainage too,

Someone here suggested driving in foot long rebar every four inches or so around the perimeter. That's what I did.

I think the wood could rot underground, but I think the mesh is a good idea! She cant get out of my backyard but we do have a dog that is a little too curious. Thanks guys!

Not really. There is some aloe vera and some dandelion but thats about it. We have untreated cedar.
