Is the CDC gonna have to issue another warning?

The CDC recently issued a warning not to hug and kiss chickens so as to not catch salmonella

Many years ago we had an Iguana and were advised about their "bacterial digestion" so we took to using alcohol in a spray bottle after handling him , so as to avoid any cross contamination to our other pets ( and ourselves) . Now we use hand sanitizer , but be sure and let it dry thoroughly before touching anything . :)

I have a large adult male Redfoot that was raised by a woman who treated the thing as if it were a human child.
It is as close to affectionate as I've ever seen.
He is proof that you can train a tortoise to act as though he likes people. If he actually does or not, I can't say.

fido.. male eastern hermanns, 3yrs. we've had him a yr.

he has always happily 'interacted' , eaten from hand but only just started allowing us to rub his neck and only when soaking. perhaps next year he'll finally learn to play fetch ;)
