Here's a spring plant growing like crazy in my box turtle pen. They knock the stems over, and eat the flowers. Hope it's not poison.

Well, if it is poisonous to humans, it still might not be poisonous to box turtles. They can eat a lot of things we can't, like poisonous mushrooms, for example. And they can usually tell what plants or fungi are okay for them to eat.

I don't think I've ever seen that before. Something in the mustard family?

I thought Mustard too, but I can't see the leaves or plant bases very well.

For the best ID, we would need a clear shot of a flower, and of the leaves, as well as a nice overall shot like you already did.

Not sure where you live, but I'm in Ont. Canada and that's an aggressive growing weed hated by farmers and gardeners alike here. I've always head it referred to as "wild mustard", but can't help you with the botanical name.
Now that I know it's enjoyed by boxies I'll see if I can research it a bit. Thanks for the info.

I think it is yellow rocket. I grow that for my torts.

I think when it comes to weeds sometimes we over-think what our tortoises will and will not eat. These guys have been on the planet for millions of years. They have good instincts.

If something is blatantly known to be poisonous, it should be removed, but if they are trampling it down and scarfing it, I really wouldn't worry.

Hi...when I zoomed into to take a better look I think I noticed a black bee? If bees are interested I would have to believe it may not be the non native invasive mustard ...bees don't seem to like the non native mustard .....hmm? What city/state is this plant photo taken?

It looks it could be trefoil which grows in abundance here in the Northeastern U.S. It is supposedly toxic. The photo is a bit blurry to see the flowers. Trefoil flowers have three "petals" per flower and grow on long, hard stalks with sparse leaves. Best description I can muster-I'm obviously no gardener!
