Fly Predator. It looks like an ant. Not suppose to be harmful to humans or animals. Not sure if the type of fly problem I have in the torts shed this winter is the type of fly these predators will take care of though. Anyone know anything about these guys?
Here's a link to what they look like and to purchase.

Interesting.
It looks like a tiny hornet.
Your right it does. Not sure how I thought it looked like an ant. They are suppose to eat the fly larvae. Would love to know if they work. By the things I have read. Sounds like horse people might use them. Probably large stables.

I think you add them to your horse manure pile and they eat the maggots that grow in the pile. Most horse people pick up the manure daily and add it to a pile in an out-of-the-way spot on the property. The predators keep the fly population down. I doubt it would work for tortoise manure unless you start piling that up someplace in a pile.

I see. They do say to spread them on the manure. I don't want tort poop piled up, yuck. The flies I have are on everything. Food and substrate, walls. I never had a problem before this. They are small, nothing like a regular house fly. But larger them the tiny fruit fly looking things I used to get when Tatum was tiny and housed in my house. I'm sure they have come from the peat I use. I guess I will stick with getting the sticky fly strips. Hope they will work.
Thanks
