My baby cherry head has just recently started snotting every few minutes but she has no other symptoms of being sick. She was recently constipated but took a big poop today. She's walking around just fine and seems happy. Sometimes she only wants to eat once every two days.

Can you take a picture? Have you been soaking your baby? And when you mean "snotting" like as in a runny nose? What kind of temperatures do you have for your baby? I guess we need more info to help you & your baby out. I keep Redfoots, and I do have one tortoise who in particular has chronic respiratory infection issues for life supposedly I was told by a very well known vet. She would have clear liquid come out from her nose here & there. Is that what you mean? Your baby may be cold. I hope someone with much more experience can help you than I.

Yeah, exactly, like clear liquid coming out of her nose and I soak her everyday for about 15 minutes. The lowest the temp in her habitat ever gets is about 75 and the highest it gets is about 95. I think she may get cold when I take her out of her habitat. I let her walk around a little bit because all she does in her habitat is go right to sleep and when I take her out she walks around and explores.

Does the liquid come out after a soak?
temps? humidity?
A snort sometimes is just a snort. since appetite is good, good energy, no open mouth breathing, and or no odd colored mucus coming out, I would advise a wait and see approach for the moment.

A very warm welcome to the forum, where I'm sure you'll get the help you need. I've a feeling your tort is cold: these gorgeous animals need hot-not only warm- temperatures. Hope to hear that your tort is better soon.

Red footeds actually don't like too much heat. Your temps sound about right. can you get him/her any actual sunlight during the day? I've found that actual sunlight can be very therapeutic for my reds. They also need a lot of humidity 24/7. At least 75%. Your tort could have an UR infection. Just keep an eye out for a few days.

no offense to anyone who disagrees but i feel 75 is to cold specially with high humidity, baby's should be kept warm and humid not cold and humid adults can handle lower it's never good to get to cold with high humidty that's how respiratory infection or upper respiratory infection happens

with young red's it's good to aim for a ambient temp of 80s 24/7 just put a CHE (ceramic heat emitter) on a thermostat and set the dial for 81-82 at least

Red footeds actually don't like too much heat.

higher temps not going crazy high are actually needed for redfoot's to help digest food properly, In the ambient 80's at night for baby's with day's spikes of like 86-87
i do know they don't like to bright of light

Yeah, 75 is a tad low for a young red. Sounds like it just needs to be a little warmer. Clear runny noise can be from being too old, stress, or the start of a RI; usually it's stress. Have you changed anything in the habitat or your routine? Some reds like to bask and some don't. Mine love it so I keep my basking area at 97 and the rest of my enclosure at 84-87 during the day and keep my CHE set at 80 for the night.

I would advise to not let your tort walk around, just my opinion. Only because it sounds like your tort is walking around in an area far from home and colder. This can make your tortoise sick & stressed!! Also your tort can eat something so tiny off the rug, hardwood floor, some dust, get squashed, etc., and it does happen!! Keep your baby in her home where it's warm & keep up with the soaks. Baby tortoises sleep a lot!!! They get past that stage & start to explore more! Your baby sounds like it's been eating well. Keep us updated :) I'm sure after some adjustments your tort will be just fine!! The main thing is keeping your tortoise warm :)

I totally agree with the members who said that your tort needs warmth.
