Beak trimming questions

I have a couple questions about this,

1.) when do you know when to trim it?
2.) how would you trim it?
3.) does it hurt the tortoise?
4.) how fast do their beaks grow?

I honestly didn't even know tortoises needed their beaks trimmed until two weeks ago haha I was just curious about all of this

My Red Foot Tyrones beak grows fast!

I take him to the vet to have it dremeled. I would not try it yourself until you have a vet show you how, it is too easy to damage their beak.

It is best if you give your tort a cuddle bone to help wear down their beak and feed them off a piece of slate or flat rock to help wear it down.

I am not an expert, and I am sure someone with more experience will chime in, this is just what I do.
