Beak Trimming

Hi, I've had my RT Franklin for a little over a year now and his beak has definitely gotten longer. I've spent hours on this forum reading posts about beaks and I'm pretty positive I need to trim it, just wanted to get opinions first. I've read the various ways to go about it but plain and simple I'm afraid to do it myself. There is a vet around me that does some exotic animals, they're not experts on tortoises but would it be that much different trimming a beak if they used nail clippers than trimming an animals nails? I am not an expert and am afraid to do it myself as well. If i needed to, i would file it rather tha clip it. Feeding on a rock or brick and providing cuddle bone helps maintain beaks.

Nail clipping the edge and file it if I had too. Feeding mine on rocks does help a lot.
