Small two year or under I think coconut coir is best specially for a sulcata of the age I mentioned needing a closed chamber, as in Toms threads below in this post. An adult, those with adults can help you.

For my sulcata youngins that are still living in enclosed chambers, I use a 50/50 mix of organic peat moss and organic, manure free top soil.
For the older sulcata here at the ranch, the heated boxes have a 75/25 mix of organic peat moss and just good old organic soil from our pasture.
For me, the organic peat moss holds moisture well and has a higher than neutral acidity which prohibits mold growth and help with a slow release moisture into the habitat.
