With our current basking area, the heat lamp is only about 10” above our larger guy’s shell. And it definitely isn’t warming his entire shell.
He’s currently indoors for the winter …the room stays around 70°. The basking area of his enclosure has UVB and heat lamps. But again, only part of his shell is heating.
We are looking at radiant heat panels. But do they work for basking? What other options are there?
