Better pics RF

Hi everyone my new RF is really dry i posted pics yesterday and have soaked him 3 times since and will continue at the least 2 times a day + spraying him down.

So is he a male??

I vote Female too, only because there seems to be no dip in the plastron.

yep yep female, it's been my experience that a male's tail makes you think.. "oh my, I didn't know a tail could be THAT long"

To clarify an early post, a concave plastron does not indicate a male tortoise in redfoots. There have been plenty of females with concave plastrons.

The two best ways to tell sex are tail length and anal scutes, and even the anal scutes can be misleading.

Like the others have said, I'm going with female, though 5 1/2" is still a bit young.

I knew about the tail length this is why I wanted to post because i thought she was a female. The people i got her from insisted she was a male.
