Black Lips?

My sulcatta seems to generally be settling in nicely, he is active and alert and very tame, lets me pet his head sometimes even, eating and pooping ect.

there are 2 things i am concerned about, he has very black lips, they dont look damaged but i am concerned about mouth rot, is that a common issue in tortoises?

also he seems to shun his hides in favor of just digging down an inch or so into the dirt and just layin kinda splayed out, is this normal behavior?

Black lips are from food. Nothing to be concerned about.

yeah i finally found the CP page, im thinking the thread was moved to the health forum, i was positive i put it in general, but i could be nuts, in fact if you ask my family they are sure of it
