"blonde" Russian tortoises

I want to start a super "blonde" Russian tortoise colony, but I do not even know where to begin. I have read quite a few past threads mentioning the "blonde" Russian tortoises, but I have yet to come across any of these "blonde" Russian tortoises in person. Anyone out there knows of a reputable source for "blonde" Russian tortoises?

I don't know anyone on this forum, however, I think I seen some advertised on the fauna classified.

I have one female who I believe may be called "blonde." She came from a Petco.

Thanks for the pictures. I will have to start looking at Petco regularly. Does anyone out there have a nice pair of "blonde" Russian tortoises for sale?

i had no clue what you meant when you said blonde russian...but after seeing the picture i see those all the time. always in a petsmart or a petco and my friend has one.

Would've thought those would be called "Golden" Russians...interestingly, I see those a lot @ local Petcos, myself.

I guess I do not even know the exact difference between "Golden" or "Blonde" or "High Yellow". For some reason, the Petco and Petsmart by me only have dark brown or black ones for the past year. Someone told me that I am making too big a deal about all this as the color is just from diet, but I really think that it is probably genetics as we also see High Yellow in Radiated tortoises despite being fed the same diet and raised in the same environment. Anyone out there has a breeding colony of only yellow Russian tortoises?
