    I'd have to think VERY UNCOMMON.
    Maybe a trait in an unfamiliar sub species....Or even photoshop?
    I've kept dozens in almost 30 years and have never seen such an eye color.
    Beautiful at any rate.
    Yours? Or a photo you've found?

    I just acquired her yesterday, an adult female. Both eyes are the same color blue.

    she seems to get around fine, has no problem finding her hide box and reacts to movements around her.

    @Anyfoot
    Is this something you've seen before?
    My initial thought was that the OP was pulling our collective leg.
    That there is a calendar photo winner in the making!

    I've never seen blue eyes on a redfoot before. Looks cool. It will be interesting to see if any offspring would inherit the blue eyes.

    @Anyfoot @ZEROPILOT We probably shouldn't be surprised at the manifestation of a new trait (or aberration) in the highly variable Redfooted tortoise.

    But could we see more pictures from both sides of the face? Pictures of the carapace and plastron would be appreciated as well.

    I am reluctant to accept this at 'face' value on the basis of a single photo.

    I've never seen that before either. Like Yvonne, my initial thought would be that she's blind in that eye. But if you say both are the same and that she can clearly see OK well, that's really weird.
    Would like to see images...

    I think I will need to see this blue-eyed dinosaur with my own eyes. Raleigh to Tampa... factoring in stops for human food and to clean out tort’s stinky transportation tub (he looooves to poop in the car).... one crazy lady, her big monster (son) a little monster (Redfoot) will be there late tomorrow afternoon. No need to tidy up on our account. We’ll bring the tort snacks! See you soon!

    (Totally kidding, of course. I always feel like I need to point that out for fear that someone will think I am legit crazy.)
