Hello all! I’m saddened to have to give my tortoise up for adoption but unfortunately I will no longer be able to provide him with the best habitat he needs to stay happy. I’m looking for someone who loves tortoises and has the time to take care of him. If you think you might be interested please let me know. I’m in the broward county areahe’s a very kind lovable tortoise and never bites but he prefers to stay on his own . If you know anyone else that may be interested as well feel free to message me. He is in the same county as you, and reported having space for rescues a couple of days ago.

Just be very wary of new members that have joined and their only post is on something like this, often it’s just someone looking for a free tortoise they can sell on

The initial response from Edward was genuine, zero is a brilliant choice but unfortunately he’s no longer offering a rehome.

That other member has only even commented on your post which can sometimes be a red flag, the more genuine they are, you’ll notice they’ve been active in other aspects of the forum, if they’re just commenting on adoption posts, it’s a bit iffy

i agree! hes kindly taken in two of my other tortoises but I think its gonna take a while until he has space so I'm not sure

hi, figured I’d chip in here lol. My name is Michael I am new to the forum but not new to torts. Sorry if my account looks weird for being new, just trying to join a new community. I live in central Florida with a decent amount of land I share with two sulcatas (one 50ish pound male and a 20 pound female that had a severe injury as a baby before I rescued resulting in a funky shell, otherwise happy and healthy), a Russian that was rescued that was bitten by a Great Dane resulting in a cracked shell, however, he is doing well , along with 6 redfoot cherryhead hybrids I rescued down in Miami. I’ll attach a picture of my handsome boy eating a hibiscus flower for tax lol. Sorry for the stir up, probably should have introduced myself in a post first or something along those lines. Hope we can move past this, would love another community to reference, ask questions and share what I know.
