That looks great, Glad you got it fixed. When I was in college I worked at a window repair shop, and they used to make some things out of plexi, He would use acetate(I think that is how you spell it) to bond the pieces together, something about the chemical composition of the acetate and the plexi caused it to bond. Not sure if this helps at all, but if you should have this issue again maybe that will help you.

Thanks jjsull33, I really hope he is happy in it cause he's stuck there till about mid June of next year. Stupid Canadian winters!

Just really concerned the stress and fluctuating temps of his temporary enclosure were too much for him. He seems to be really working hard to move air. I posted a thread asking about Deep Breathing. Waiting to see what people say about the video

He is however continuing to explore and has already made two burrows in the substrate, positive right?

Thanks for the hint about the sealant. I pray I never have to deal with that again.

That is pretty lame.... Had you taken the tape off the outside? or did the tape peel off as well? Maybe you can just get a roll of gorilla tape and over tape it, as in use the whole roll to keep it together? If not look into acetate, to be honest I don't really know where you can get it, I assume homedepot. It was a liquid that they would brush onto the the plexi in the places that they were to connect and then he would clamp them together and the acetate bonded the two pieces of plexi. Other suggestions are crazy glue, and epoxy glue which you should be able to get at any hardware store, you just need to know if it is plexi, lexan, acrylic or something else and then get the right type of epoxy glue/acetate etc.

Thanks. I'm thinking its time to build a wood frame for the entire thing and seal that. Just need a handy friend - oh yeah, I have some of those!

I'm very happy to report that Benny's terrarium was finally repaired properly and seems to be holding! He's also back to his old trouble-making self. Dragging his plants around and moving stuff like a little one tortoise construction crew.
