Carrots

I am new to tortoise keeping andam learning about them. So far my tortoise seems to like everything I feed him, but loves carrots. Are they okay for him to eat?

Occasionally. I give my Russian tortoise a carrot every three or four months or so. Carrot tops are fine once in a while too. What type of tortoise do you have? Some eat a lot more vegetables, versus greens in weeds, than others.

Carrots are not a good regular food. Too much sugar. The tops are good. It might be more ok for some tortoises than others like leigti said.

they are very high in sugar they have some of the highest amountsee of sugar in them of vegetables. I wouldn't feed it at all to be honest. the reason why he like them because they taste like candy to him.
