How likely is a CHE to start a fire? I have only timothy hay as substrate in an outdoor dogloo.

Currently I have a red heat lamp but with the weather being so dry, I'm starting to get concerned.

I think as long as you keep your substrate moist, you'll be ok. I understand your concerns...I often find myself Being paranoid, but if you have a thermostat, you can avoid overheating!

I think as long as the hay can't get stood on end to touch the CHE you'd be ok. You don't want to moisten hay as it would mold.
