I decided I'm just going to start posting any concerns, or random "stuff" on my tortoise, Clarice, here instead of posting everywhere. :tort:

Currently, she is hiding under her new ponytail plant, and exploring.

Also, I just finished "modifying" her enclosure set up, with a lot of help from Team Gomberg. Her enclosure now has walk ways, an elevated basking platform, and a spider plant to go with the ponytail palm. She is really enjoying all of this. :) I also am planning on replacing the spider plant with a, dracaena, I believe they are called, which was suggested by stinax182. Thank you to both of you guys for all of the help and suggestions!

I guess that's all for now. :tort:

That's her current setup.
Here are some pictures of her from a few weeks ago: ImageUploadedByTortForum1371417948.979118.jpg ImageUploadedByTortForum1371417982.305733.jpg ImageUploadedByTortForum1371418008.526373.jpg

Well, Clarice seems to be a little inactive again. Today she woke at around noon, I scattered her food around in different places again. She ate all but a spot of food on one rock. She was up for about an hour. Oh wait, she just woke up again, she's basking :D she can't make up her mind :)

So I was wondering, how often should I change the substrate? I use eco earth, and it says to change at least every 6 months, or at least I think it did. But some care sheets recommend cleaning it weekly, and some people recommend monthly. I spot clean every day. So what time intervals would be best?

I've never, wait...maybe once, fully changed my enclosure substrate. I use dirt. If I see poop I scoop it. Can't remember the last time that was...
Depends on how much she goes in there.
I also have a bio active substrate and the bugs keep my tank so clean!!

So bio active.... the enclosure has it's own self regulating eco- system of sorts? Where everything takes care of everything else? Interesting. And thanks.

Clarice destroyed her basking platform today... I would've gotten pictures but I was too focused on fixing it. It's all good now.

And a little off topic, are you still able to ask moderators to change your membership name thingy to other names? I saw that in archives and thought that was kinda neat

I kind of notice that her shell looks kind of like pyramiding started. Is there some pyramiding or is it just me?

I am still kind of concerned about Clarice's shell... When I got her from petco, she had- and still does- these small little "pits" but they are white. It's not soft, or at least I don't think it is. I attached some pictures, if anyone could help with identifying it as shell rot or not. Could it be be damage from transportation? So Clarice has begun to be inactive again. She wakes up to roam for her food and goes to bed. The temps have gotten higher, her basking spot is normally 100 or a little more. Could this be the problem? I already switched the bulb out with a 40 watt. Should I decreae the temps or rearrange the enclosure again?
