I mixed up some coco coir substrate a few weeks ago and used what I needed, and stored the leftover in an airtight Rubbermaid container. Of course, I forgot about it. I was going to add new substrate today and remembered. I'm wondering if it's too old or not. I don't see any visible mold and I've stirred it up. is nice and moist, and doesn't smell bad. I would hate to use it and risk my Russian getting ill from harboring mold that I don't see .

It doesn't go "bad". One of the advantages of that substrate is that it resists the growth of mold, bacteria, fungus, etc...
