Coil bulb

I have been reading a lot how coil bulbs are bad and can hurt torts eyes but why would they sell the bulbs if they can blind an animal.?

It's all in the $$$, Kaitiejane. Plus, when they first came out no one knew it was hard on baby tortoise's eyes. They have supposedly fixed them now, but the old ones were never recalled, so you don't know if you're buying a new, fixed one, or one of the old bad ones.
