That's why they call it the discover card. Soon you will discover how much they spent.Everyone gets snow but us......but I'm not complaining about 50F in the middle of March either.
According to our field guys, the cherry blossoms in DC are already blooming and have been for a week.
Cloudy & 48 today and supposed to rain I think. Matilda ate Friday afternoon so I haven't seen her all weekend, daughter and Kerry gone.......yeah, I miss the girls.
Good Ray, I hope you drive her nuts.....make her yell at you, always worked for my ex. She'd get sick, get mad at me since I never did, and she'd yell at me and the kids, then she'd be better. Not completely sure that we were ALL rooting for her to get better all the time though...LOL
Poor Kerry, no really $$ POOR Kerry.....LOL....she went down to help her daughter get settled into her apt near school. I warned her that it was going to cost and she want to take my discover card and every time I've called, she or they are in another store......apparently she's brutalized her Cap1 card down there. LOL
She comes back late tonight but I won't see her till next w/e.
Bread bin?
Good morning all,
I've been awake since about 4.30 am when the 50mph winds were slamming into the house, This is my second visit of the morning to TFO. We're still being battered, but the wind's down to about 45 mph now - looks like the March winds have arrived all at the same time! I need to go to the shop but will wait until I can walk there later when it's calmer.
I hope the weather is better where you are and you all have a good Monday.
Is it the nephew that got married in Los Vegas? I'm not sure which one. I seem to remember that a nephew of yours had a baby. We got some flurries today but they didn't stick. I'm hoping I can call that the third snow after the forsythia blooms anyway.Isaac is a nephew's son, and quite a character.
I hope the snow doesn't hang about too long for you Cathie.
I agree with being teachable. That means you're alive because there's always something to learn.Mark; I remember during the cold war, they wouldn't let my dad travel to the Soviet Union, not till after the wall fell. He wanted to take my mom to where his parents lived(he was born in the US along with his brothers and sisters) but despite his multifaceted pressure, they said no, till much later.
I'm kinda surprised they let you go over there considering what you did to occupy your time during the day...LOL.....some folks simply have too much operational awareness to let it into the hands of bad actors.
I'm sure that 30 some yrs removed from the cold war and 55 from crawling under our desks for "practice", it's a bit of a different climate.
That had to be a cool trip.....
Pod guy was waiting for me in the driveway, just by chance....Amazon will bring the locks today. Contractor just got a copy of my receipt from the Floor place and will start on the 20th. He even complimented my complete order.....he must be teaching me something. Best thing in life I ever did was to remain, teachable. LOL
Daughter was forced to Uber home after she landed while I dealt with pod guy....but as consolation, I ordered pizza for her and her boyfriend. She should be here soon.
Enjoy the coming bluster!
I can't wait to see the wind spinner spinning. The second project reminds me of a mail organizer for a desk.Another little spinner up & drying off along with something new.

No, my nephew Sam is the Daddy of Cambrie in LV. She was one back in January and as bright as a button. We hope they'll be back home again this summer. Is it the nephew that got married in Los Vegas? omg! Ya gotta take pictures...I dislike heights....This was a fun day.....
I visited what I had been told was a "dark site" today for work in Urbana, MD. It turned out to be a no-longer-classified ATT site now. Used to be "dark site" for Army I'm guessing from the construct. So, not really sure why I was there other than "our new friends" might not like their old friends(my competition). I usually don't get involved in "normal" stuff but this one was fun.
The gist of the work is they want us to clean out 5 air shafts, and dewater them. These aren't the 20' deep variety we all see on the sidewalks next to buildings and schools with those big grates on them, no.....these are the 110 feet deep variety built by our US Gov, to the highest tech at the time, with an open wallet! Just getting to the work can cost them thousands of dollars now.
It took me 2 hrs to get there with DC beltway traffic. I checked on google....I could have driven to the Balt beltway and it only would have taken 6 more minutes!
It went like this;
Once we hit the lower level on one of the largest elevator cars known to man......
"Your work is in there, behind the 10" steel blast door". My escort from the management firm running the property says as he tries to open said door while the "Supt" stands there in her awful cute 22 year old self, skinny-jeans, size 7 sneakers, a teaser jacket built for speed, not warmth...she looked more like JB than a "supt".
Anyway, little, but powerfully built guy is leaning into this door with heart so I join him and the door opens, I walk onto a grate suspended 35 feet in the air. "Down there" he says as he points to this "pit of black death" LOL
At least the other portion of the project has "removable" 1500lb steel plates bolted to the wall for access to the base of the 4 shafts, 105 feet below the surface.
dang, I type too much....good times though and home by 1pm!
I also feed wild birds...BUT, I have rats. I even see fat, sleek, very healthy rats in the damn day time under the bird feeders. So then all night I have scratching noises from under my floor...A few more suet cakes for the birdies. Next week is below normal temps, something we haven’t had much of this year.
Sunflower seeds, cracked wheat, quinoa & unsalted peanuts all mixed in with melted lard.
