Good morning Lyn,

I hope you're okay. Do you have power?

Natrah
Hi Natrah, I'm fine thank you. The power hasn't been affected and, touch wood, there hasn't been any damage to my house during the night. The wind strength has dropped even though it's still more than 60 mph. The wind direction is now coming from the north so the house will offer some protection to the garden and my sheds.
I hope your area and you are ok. Hopefully the storm will have weakened by the time it reaches to our side of the UK.

Getting a bit wilder here after a lovely sunrise. Also why do the BBC send reporters out in contrary to the warnings!?

Natrah
I've just heard that one of my niece's partner has gone surfing today! I can't believe how stupid he is as well as selfish because if he gets into trouble, it puts the RNLI and coast guards at risk too. What an idiot!!

That's unbelievable! It's also worrying for the people that care for him. Anyway I have to go and teach so I have to brave the weather but at least the shop is just up the road and I only have one pupil today.

Glad to hear you survived the night and everything is okay, Lyn.

So far so good thanks Natrah.
We now have a red weather warning for rain and winds of 70 mph from about 2 a.m.! I've never experienced winds that strong.
I have torches charged ready for action if necessary - power cuts are a real possibility. I don't have a generator so I'll have to use hot water bottles for him if the power is affected. I also have a calor gas heater, so at least we'll have a warm room. I won't be sleeping much tonight.
I use these body warmers for Opo. I get a towel and fold in half. Between the two halves I put the warmers. This brand says it last for twelve hrs. They are still warm the next morning. I have used when Opo decides to sleep outside. When cool weather starts coming in. Opo gets caught by surprise of the cool nights. If you can get a warmer folded in a towel. Then put underneath. That would be even better. I am assuming a torch is a flashlight?
Stay safe.
