No Ms Cathie, this one has been left to fend for itself. The other deer shun him and will run off if he comes into view. It's almost like they know something is wrong with him. He is always alone and its very sad for us to watch him degrade. We try to make "sense" of it but as every person here knows, it's very difficult. We came to the conclusion that the phone # for animal control is really a line to therapists who help get folks through it. LOL There isn't anything they can do short of removing him and we aren't about that yet. I've used 27 of my 31 lives(like a cat with 9 but different) so I'm not one to count him out yet....I've enjoyed too many "lucky as heck" moments!

Space Heaters..... I used one of those 27 lives at 18 years old when Rodger pulled me from my burning trailer. The pillow had fallen right in front of the electric heater and filled the space with thick smoke. It wouldn't have taken but a couple more minutes and this ride would have been cut drastically short!

I have a Mr Heater 80,000btu diesel "salamander" for the garage and a "5kw parking heater" for my shed.
The shed heater has an exhaust pipe to go outside and also burns diesel fuel. I paid 52 bucks for it....equal to the Velvor model at $90. Same unit with a different name like so many item's from china are in fact so shop around! The garage heater is only run when I'm watching it. I even stay out there as the garage warms...it spews flames...so I don't trust it. The shed heater can run 10hr without any worries....I do trust that one, mostly.
Well.... I hope you can help the little one. Maybe he lost his mom early on and that's what is wrong.

Me too. A simple test with sudsy water can easily check for gas leaks though. I always do that when I fix one up with the canisters. You have to be careful when attaching the canisters though. The fittings can easily get screwed 😕 🙃😉😊
When I used to check for small gas leaks in a,house. I would use a BBQ lighter. There is not a large amount gas coming out of the leak. So it was easier than using soap bubbles.

Jeff, just bring the deer in the house. I am sure you have a spare bedroom. 😁

Dear Ray,

Please get that leak checked out by a professional.

Natrah
You misunderstood me, I used to do repair work on homes. If I was checking for very small gasleaks. I would use a lighter. It was more dependable than the soap bubbles.

Good morning/afternoon all.
It's been a beautiful day here.
Temps have dropped again and there was a frost first thing, which I don't mind at all, but much calmer than it has been. Hopefully that should last for a few days.
I saw the first daffodil of the year when I was out walking yesterday.
It was just a single flower stem surrounded by dead leaves but a lovely cheery flash of yellow. My Camellia tree has lots of buds on it too, but they aren't brave enough to open yet.
Very sad news about the plane/helicopter crash in Washington DC. My thoughts are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives.

I was an hour off the 14th street bridge in 1982 having just left the Pentagon where I had been working when the plane crashed into the river. We'd also had a subway crash in DC that day. It took hours to get to our apt in Laurel.

This event is even worse.....I can't imagine. Just horrible. I worked on that base in Anacostia building crap for 2 years....how do you stray that far off to end up in the DCA flightline? So sorry for all affected.

That is sad for all, my sister inlaws friend had a couple of friend on that flight.
I also was working at the Pentagon back in 1982 the day of the plane accident, we just left the Pentagon heading home to Baltimore. Before we could get home, there was a special announcement on the radio about the plane crash. That is a dangerous airport, they must come in on a certain path. Planes are not allowed to fly over Washington monument!

Just hearing about the Washington DC aircrash and I hope they find survivors🙏.

Natrah
Early today they knew there couldn't be survivors. After 90 minutes in the cold freezing waters you can't survive . It was really hard for rescue people to be in the river trying to rescue them even. The whole thing is so sad

I saw on the news today... During the cold freezing southern weather a bunch of sea turtles got shocked by the cold. Florida Fish and Wildlife had to rescue about 1200 so far. The turtles became so cold they couldn't swim and just floated inland. Thank God they're being rescued. I saw a robin again today and the snow and ice is barely gone. It's only February 1st tomorrow. Hopefully it'll stay on the unfrozen side of things so he can grab a worm every time. It's 43°f now. Hopefully it will stay that way 🤞

On the news they said members of congress were lobbying for a direct flight from DC to Kansas city. The members of congress from Virginia were totally against it. Stating that there is to much traffic now. Plus the airport had to close 1 of 3 landing strips. The reason was the new buildings in DC that were in the path of the runway. Were to tall so the landing strip had to be closed. The new flight from DC. to Kansas city was started in May of last year. The FCC will look at who was at fault, who made mistakes and if the president gets his way. The diversity programs were at fault. They won't even think about removing the DC to Kansas city flight. Hope I didn't step over the line. 🤔

Had some excitement tonight. Rose noticed 2 cars pulled into the driveway across the street. Got out and walked around the side of the house. I called the police and went over to the cars. I gave the police the make and model. Also the license plate numbers. When the police showed up. They approached the back of the house. You can see in the video, the officer talking to me. Starts running after the suspects. There was 5 or 6 of them. The police caught 2 of them. One of the punks that was caught had a gun. When the officer brought one of the punks and sat him on the ground. My neighbor and I were calling him a punk and a few other words.LOL I heard the punk asked the officer if he could call his parents. I said to him, give me your number and I will call them. There must have been 15 police cars, helicopter and 2 dogs. For all that man power. Only catching 2 is not a great percentage. https://ring.com/share/924cb6a2-4c07-432f-9995-5bede5fb94ff
