Sunshine, then snow flurries, cool & overcast. Working on a few separate wood projects: another wind spinner, a display story about for a Chesapeake Crab molt & this little floating wine bottle stand.

The Stand - a “rustic” Old Man floating wine holder. A carving in pine with Red Mahogany stain. Needs one last good waxing & buffing.

No pix of the very beginning, but two closer to the end.

So the wine bottle acts like the counter balance along with the 45° miter at the bottom?

One look at the 1940 wood tool laying behind Mark's work, tells you a lot. Very nice work...always envious in a good way towards those who can do or see, what I can't.

I know Magz & others here have been getting hammered with the weather and I never knew it was so bitter out there. I mean we all know Oregon is pretty rugged, but I perked up at Rays question cause I thought you got more cold than precipitation.

Don't know bout others and but as much as I love deep snow, this winter has been a bust...I think the fluries Mark mentioned were our seasons total! I'm ready for Spring. I was thinking about trying to get Kerry to go skiing us at Wisp but it looks more like a motocross track, a steep one, than a ski slope! I'll hang on to that for now.

The peacekeeper
Daughter loves new fan. It will run 24/7/365. Kerry & I installed it while she was at work and I didn't make it last night till she got home at 10PM, I was long dead. I ordered a foam tube door seal, should be here today but put a towel there last night so it wasn't sucking the heat out of the house. Her room is right above my gas furnace so even with her register full-closed, and the fan on, it stays decent and she likes it cold so it seems like a reasonable solution to me.

Got my housework done after I kicked Kerry out this morn at 9:30 or so, after she made us breakfast of course. LOL I'm not a troll, she needed to get home. She has a "review" tomorrow and she stresses over that stuff so she needed to do some teacher-planning. I don't try to tell her she shouldn't stress LOL that would just stress both of us so I just give her space and urge her to go when she's "lingering" b/c she knows she has work to do. I got more laundry done, vac'ed, dusted, changed the sheets on my bed(a 10 min task) shaved and showered then cooked a nice streak dinner(left a piece for my Matilda) and the dishwasher is running now.

It's nice now that the ins folks took all of their equip out....it's finally quiet.....ahhhh.

Good morning all, I haven't slept since yesterday. 😩
So I keep seeing this package sitting on the counter.

I am not sure where you live. Is the snow normal in your area?
Just saw the post I sent.🤣 As you can see I wasn't thinking clearly. I was going to tell you about a package and then went to asking Maggs a question. 🤣 To late tonight, I will try and finish the package story tomorrow. 🤪

It was gloomy and rainy most of the day and finally the clouds floated away. The sun came out yeah. My son warned me last night that we had high winds coming our way. I told him not much scares me anymore. So guess what happened today! I watched a squirrel trying to deal with my blowing in the wind bird feeder to eat a few bites.😁. It was so funny I couldn't bear to shew him away. He finally gave up 🙃😁

Good morning/afternoon all.
Still chilly and grey here, but no snow yet.
I've been sorting out my books and have a lot that could go, but not many places are taking them at them moment because they have so many. They are all too good to scrap. Maybe if I just try to off load a few at a time I'll be able to find homes for them.
Not up to much at the moment. Lola is still in his hide keeping warm and I don't blame him.
Have a good Tuesday and I'll see you later.

Books, the keys to the world! Thank you Lyn, for valuing your books. When the big Sunspot hits or bad guy does his thing and ALL of the digital data is lost, we will still have books! I wish I had the space for a library b/c everyone is giving away books. I even got an original Voyage of the Kite- The Peary expedition...signed by the man himself, though he wasn't the author. Very cool!

On another note, Jeff's an idiot....yeah, a continuing saga....here's the latest one. I bought this home in '06. It has 4 interior to exterior glass sliding doors, all but 1 are Anderson 400's, a decent door and I've had no issues with any of them....but my one off brand door in my room going to my deck will give you 18" biceps....I've greased the wheels and rail with a little but not much effect. Remember guys, I'm a plumber and I suck at all thing wood-related(got to know your weaknesses) so the door is getting so sticky that watching Kerry attempt to close it while standing on a floating wool rug on a hardwood floor was entertaining....so much so that I sat back and watched....but I didn't laugh till she "beat it" cause I'm cool like that.

Anyway....I go to regrease it and look what I found... 2 little caps, each approx 8" from either end. Do you know what's under those caps? WHEEL ADJUSTERS!

Oh God! How many years I've wrestled with that door? 16-17 yrs? LOL I feel a little humbled....ok, more than a little.

Now...it glides with 1 finger but Kerry will launch it off the tracks if I don't warn her ahead of time, she'll "hoss" it!

Well...it's snowing like hell, and my bald tires are gonna try to make it into town for a Drs appt. I love the excesses of weather...but I'm ready for spring, I want myView attachment 354564 animals outside...View attachment 354565
I want spring too but not this soon. We used to have snow even in May. It's for sure, it's not fun to go through winter unless you can just sit inside and watch the beauty of it all. We have only gotten a sprinkle of snowflakes now and then. This February is going down as the least amount of snow ever.🤗
