Cool & sunny here. Finally some perfect gardening weather. Ive raked, cut the lawn, transplanted & divided a few house plants, gave away a few Snake Plants & a fig tree or two. Cleaned the garage up, participated in a community “garage sale” (i had a bunch of hostas, liriope, monstera, & snake plants up for sale). Pulled some Japanese Stiltgrass for our Sully to graze on. Soon, a wee bonfire on the back deck. Thats enough for today. 65 degrees outside and loving it. (18C)
Hello. Do you know if Japanese stiltgrass is safe to feed to a Hermann’s tortoise? Thanks.

I had to visit my gastroenterologist today and all he wants to do is talk crap 😜
A little trivia why we refer our 💩 as crap. During the war our servicemen were in Europe. One of the most used toilets was manufactured by a company using the owners name as the brand. His last name was Crapper. So be happy one of your ancestors didn't go into the toilet business. 😁

Is that a hedgehog?

Natrah
Yes, They've been popping in for the last few years, so I made a feeding station. I noticed some droppings a couple of weeks ago so put some food and my camera out just in case. Unusual to see them before the autumn though.

And well...of course it had to get crazy after that. But he said their office would help me so once again I have to put them through the ringer. A prior authorization. Just because I'm allergic to corn. The pharmacy tried to deliver my prescription with corn included in the caplets. Whatever. All of them have been told time and time again that I'm allergic to corn. Even when I include it in my medical records it's removed from my records but not by me. So now my doctor's office has to do all this extra paperwork so that I can get the only real best medication by prescription for me. It's even an over the counter medication. It shouldn't matter that I need one without corn.😊

I checked the tortoise table and it is not there. Here is a picture of Japanese stiltgrass
Hello 🤗. And welcome 🤗 what kind of tortoise do you have? Also I just googled Japanese Still Grass and it's an invasive plant here in the US even if it is edible for a tortoise. There's so many others just as good here in our country why bother.

Hi Cathie. Thanks! I have an eastern Hermann’s tortoise. Where we live in GA we have a ton of this weed growing in the woods and parks nearby. So much, that I have a hard time finding native plants like dandelions or plantain.

There is no guilt or shame for having Ice Cream for dinner once a week or so. My fav is Italian ice......I typically have Raisin Bran for dinner a couple nights a week. Last night I ate a big plate of spaghetti at near bed time....I was up with all kinds of carb energy for two more hours! LOL

You have wild Hedgehogs Lyn? I guess they have to live wild somewhere, I just never thought about where they lived. The UK? hmm, learned my "new thing for the day" early....it's only 2am!

Turdingham!?

It should be a "Harrington" for a flushing water closet but Thomas Crapper made his mark, so to speak!

LOL

When I was a kid, I thought they were all "Standard"....it's all I could see at a urinal at 7 years old!

Just to be more clear I don't know if it's edible. I have a Russian which is close in nature to a Herman's. My Russian is picky about what he eats even among the plants that he loves. I don't know that he would ever even eat grass. He usually passes that up for the perfect dandelion that smells just right 😊

Last night I don't know if I even took a wink. I usually pass out and don't feel a thing until morning. But I was still semi awake watching TV when this beautiful light show happened at 4am. Thunder like drums and a light show that should have frightened me except it was perfect. I was laying there listening when a
lovely little breeze started wafting through my open window. It was so refreshing after the intense heat we had. On top of that we got a drenching rain even though we were supposed to be dry. It was nice.😊

That's a rough way to start the day Ms Cathie....."dragging". Mind racing?

Blue Lights next door this morning(at the 7-11), 2 cars...must be an overachiever?

I have to say, for August, it's been a cakewalk weather-wise in this area. I know what hades looks like now, I've been there; Florida-n-Aug! I think Mark would agree, we've had an easy summer here for the most part and comparatively, it's been spectacular!

You were right BD, I nearly bought the tankless water heater....the $'s are just so blatant that it's a sin I'm not going to switch! I had never really looked at them before so thanks for spurring the curiosity. I had a basic knowledge...expensive but much more efficient but nothing beyond.

I have a top-leaking water heater. That is an unpredictable leak. As of yesterday, I am turning my water off when I leave my home & when I sleep!!---that's sketchy! Timing is always great for these things though isn't it? I'd really like to wait till the Labor-Day sales next week, then buy it in Delaware- no tax....but I'm not living with having to turn my water off....that's just stupid.
BUT
I'm committed to going to NY Sat for Dad's party, then we are stopping in NJ on the way home early Sun to have breakfast with a couple we met in Jamaica....so my plan is as we pass through DE, I'll stop and buy a new sales-tax-free 50 gallon heater and take it home. They would deliver it for free from the local branch but then I'd pay the 40-some bucks in tax.

Pearle vision called and left a msg that my new super-duper glasses are done. I have a chiro apt at noon, then I'll go get them before heading over to Kerry's at some point tonight.

I guess I should go do some work.....poor Brandon, I heard him tell someone on the phone yesterday "that's why we drink on the weekends". See? There's his problem right there..............I told him too! "That's why your so miserable, you're waiting for the weekends"

Enjoy the day guys....
