I have had fairly poor vision all my life, but I manage pretty well with contact lenses- also I have been taking Eyewise for years - it contains Lutein and Zeaxanthin,as well some plant extracts - I can't be sure, of course, but I really think it has helped stop things getting worse. I may be able to get a cataract op for my left eye, but it will be a long wait, if so., and it's too expensive to get privately.
Angie
Thanks for the info.

Those are high winds...you stay safe across the pond!

Big day in Jeff's life... Major milestone...

I still have a few things to put away and to sort but it's in!

Yay jeff!
I'd love to have a garage, but I doubt there'd be any room for my car.

Winds starting to weaken now - should be below 40 mph according to met office, and so far not heard of any damage in my area. My house and I are still in one piece, thanks Jeff.

I don't know if you can get it in the US, but I would be delighted to send you some if you wanted - I can't say for sure, of course, but I certainly think it is well worth trying, or something similar.
Angie
Thank you, I will do some research on Google and let you know.

We did something fun today. The weather has been fantastic so Dad got a chance to drive the little 2-seater today. He's 94 years old and while he didn't fully unwind the supercharged engine, we sure enjoyed the pretty ride through the countryside. It was pretty cool to let a guy who last drove a convertible, an Austin Healey in Japan in 1953 take it out for a drive.

Good morning all.
It's raining here again but it's not supposed to be according to the forecast. The weather thought it would surprise us 😊☔. At least it's not cold.

Some DIY plumbing is on the cards for today. I want to fit some new bathroom taps and a new fill valve in the loo cistern, so wish me luck 🤞. They are jobs I've done before over the years, so should be ok.

Have a good day.

Beautiful pic from the air...enjoy your ride back!

Good for you doing some plumbing Lyn. I hope it went well!

I did electrical work today and it all works! I'm happy...i divorced the existing "shed powered by a GFI receptacle" in the garage & ran new wiring into a 20amp breaker. I still have to run it "shed to shed" but I'm done in the house.

I wanted to get out for a drive by myself today but completed my project instead. I am pretty beat. Tomorrow is supposed to be another spectacular day so I will wait.

As it turns out my compression fracture in my back is old so I don't get to get it fixed. The MRI showed I have pinched nerves with arthritis and they would like to give me steroid shots. Then it would be me on steroids 😉 I don't think that's a good idea 💡. I might have a better one anyway. I think I'm going to try a Spanx girdle type thing which is what I felt I needed all along. It seems to help. I'm afraid of anyone sticking a needle in my back and I'm even more afraid of steroids. Even so I would have if it would fix the problem. The shots remind me too much of a pig in a poke. It might be part of why I'm having bone problems in the first place. I've had to have steroids so many times from a young age.

I get the shots about every 2 yrs for my lower back. I have a appointment next month for another shot.
In my cervical area, I had problems with pinched nerves. They tried the shots at first with no luck.
They tried another procedure called Radio Frequency Ablation. They actually burn the nerve endings. For me it worked, from waking up with a migraine every morning. It has been about 3 years. The doctor said the nerve endings will rejuvenate. At that time I will need the procedure again. If the migraines come back.

Yeah, I avoid procedures on my back too. When we see our friends who have had back surgery not many are pain free so what's the point? Create more problems? Ray, you are a special case and thankfully you are able to find relief

I did take the car out yesterday, by myself. That thing flies. I came home with a stupid grin after 10 miles of pure and stupid "fuc*ery" . .40mph around 90degree turns, 110+ on the straights...i really wasn't pushing too hard, there are a crapload of cops around here so I didn't go fast for long! I don't want to meet them on bad terms even before I begin riding the bikes. There weren't any other cars out there...im not really stupid. Lol

Dad and I are chilling on the chilly deck. Temps are dropping 10 or 15F for a few days. He is being chauffeured back to NY in the morning. Kerry will take him and I will mount the receptacles in the sheds. He has enjoyed it here. I'm super happy. At his age a lot of things get decided for him so I'm glad he wanted to come here...so we went and got em, no big deal! Now we have to take him home. He told me when we were alone that he just wanted to go back to Fla and stay there. He doesn't want to go home to NY. Kinda sucks. On the upside, he became a deer whisperer on this visit. He also became a master metal detector operator after telling me in conversation that he'd always wanted to use one.....lol I told him next time we're going to strap him up with a subnado!

Your dad looks so good at 94. I bet he'll be going strong for many years to come. I'm glad he enjoyed himself.
