So today I will be watching Doctor Who, chatting with my friend Paul, also a life long fan of the show, who I have been mates with for more than fifty years.
Which Doctor and which episodes ? I have a great many on DVDs collected over the years, and of course a lot of the later ones are now on BBC I Player - I am now on Tom Baker ones - I must see if I can find my Dr Who scarf to wear while watching! I still have fond memories of seeing the early ones for the first time - do you remember little Zoe ?

It's been freezing cold and a bit snowy. Some days with drizzle and even fog. Wouldn't you know it! In the middle of the night the pilot on the furnace went out. I couldn't get myself to get up and remember how to relight it. So I set up the oil filled heater for the night. I'm Sooo happy though. This morning after I had my coffee I got brave. I finally actually relit it all by myself without a refresher course from someone like a brother or my son. I always forget because it happens so seldom and it's a little complicated. It must have finally sunk in. I'm Sooo releaved 😊

I attempted to electrocute a ground hog but even 12amps of 120v didn't get his attention a couple years ago.

Dr Who....i watched long enough to see 2 doctors but I don't remember who they were....get it? Its actually well written Y if you can get past the overly campy props.

Ray should be in happy land today...he was getting his pain blocker this week I think.

Big weather for Ms Cathie and Lyn.....hang in there guys and don't be grouchy old ladies, ask others for help if you need it!

Saw that 10 point buck again today....
Prancer( a yearling) walked into the yard followed a few minutes later by "10 Point". The stance Prancer got when he or she saw him was different than any pose I have seen till now. He or she was leaned way back, like "WHOA". 10 Point didn't bother it. Cool to watch

It's calmer here Jeff although there is a warning about wind. I believe Angie had snow and my friend in Scotland had blizzards. What's it like where you are Edward? Wish I could see a buck Jeff.

We have 22 cm of snow or 8,6 inches. The snowfall started last Sunday and we had a snowstorm from Wednesday to Friday. I am afraid it will all melt on Monday though and cause even worse road conditions. The weather forecast promises a high of 8c or 46.4 F for Monday. 😬

I think I probably said that Tom and I were drinking buddies for quite a while?
Both In London and whenever he was doing a book signing or convention in the West Country.
I always knew where the best pubs and clubs were.
Tom had the amazing ability of being such a brilliant raconteur even when he was drunk as a skunk, but if a child suddenly turned up, the cigarette and vodka would mysteriously vanish and he would become the Doctor. Wonderful.

Of course I remember Zoe. Wendy Padbury was a friend of wifey's and I knew her myself a bit from conventions. wifey and I went to a fan dinner with her once, with my best friend and I even got to kiss her. lol. My friend did too and later wished he'd inserted his tongue.
She's very nice and lives in France mot of the time now.
We do have an invite to visit but have not done so yet.

Yesterday, we watched, "The Legend of Ruby Sunday", the first of the two part season finale of this year's series and followed that with Tom Baker's Pyramids of Mars, four episodes with a couple of new effects added and one or two scenes cut out by the "woke" crew which is most annoying. Then the second part of the season finale which is a bit disappointing, honestly, after seven excellent episodes of the season.

I've caught snippets of the program as I'm surfing, and it never impressed me enough to stay there and watch.
There are hundreds of episodes.
Some are near TV perfection, many good ones, a lot of average stuff and some really dreadful ones too. Doctor Who has something for everyone, but if you catch ones that don't suit you it is understandable it put you off.

Yes, usually well written and well acted but the older series did suffer from a tiny budget and limited specia effects. The technology didn't exist back then, a lot of effects used in things like Star Wars were trialed on Doctor Who. Some worked, some didn't.
But the budget and technology have improved, and the latest series, partly funded by Disney, looks very good. Expensive.
