Dear Lyn,

You must be in North Wales as my friend in the south is having trouble with her electricity. The wind picking up here again.

Natrah
No I'm also in the south but was lucky - half a mile away there were power cuts for most of the afternoon. I just had some occasional flickering lights.
Winds are about 58 mph here now so heading in the right direction and gusts not as frequent.
I've had to tape the letter box shut as it was rattling and making Alfie bark. He must think I have a lot of visitors knocking the door ,😄.
Take care if you have to go out.

Yes, plenty of warnings and flood alerts again, but it's the wind I worry about.
I'm not going to bed tonight. The gusts are quite frightening.
I took Alfie out for a little walk before the winds got too strong so hopefully he'll be ok for the night. I'm not going out again in that - sounds like all sorts flying around - hopefully not my roof!!
Alfie might get scared and have to cuddle up with you for the night in your chair. Mr Fre warms up my lap most of the time 😀 and he doesn't like the wind either. So I usually have a lap dog no matter the weather. I hope the winds die down quickly for you🙏🤗. Isn't that higher winds than you've been used to in your country? 70mph is nothing to sneeze at.

It's Saturday! Have a great weekend everyone.
I am going to spend the day pretending I am a bat.
Like I used to with poor Sabine,
I miss her too. I still have her in some ways though. I subscribed to her utube channel and can watch one of her videos anytime. When I get to thinking about her I do. You have a great weekend too.😊

I use these body warmers for Opo. I get a towel and fold in half. Between the two halves I put the warmers. This brand says it last for twelve hrs. They are still warm the next morning. I have used when Opo decides to sleep outside. When cool weather starts coming in. Opo gets caught by surprise of the cool nights. If you can get a warmer folded in a towel. Then put underneath. That would be even better. I am assuming a torch is a flashlight?
Stay safe.

Good idea Ray, I'll get some of those for emergencies.

Yes torch is a flashlight, with batteries as opposed to the medieval flaming oil soaked rags on the end of a stick although that would also keep me warm 😃.

I don't remember having winds that strong and for so long. Red weather warnings are extremely rare but with climate change we've been told it will probably happen more frequently. 😟
Alfie doesn't need an excuse for a cuddle. He loves a tummy tickle. ❤️

Mr Fre lives for belly rubs and doesn't give me any choice about that 🤗 I'll be thinking of you. Even though the winds have settled that's still high winds. We have a joke around here. People usually laugh and tell me I need to put rocks in my pockets to hold me down to planet Earth in high winds. I figure they're silly in winds as high as yours. I'll just try to hang on to a tree 😁

I will find a youtube video of Sabine. I miss her also, she learned the song Crazy by Patsy Cline after I requested. I wonder if I could find it here in the CDR?

Probably the same reason they do here. Reporters on TV are crazier then us. 😜
I remember a reporter on tv. Out of the cameras frame. They were using a big fan. To make it look windier than it really was. The way it got exposed was another tv station. Was in the same area filming and showed what the other station was doing. 🤣

Good morning /afternoon all.

Winds down to about 48 mph now and very cold.
They should continue to drop over the next day or so.
Alfie and I went for a walk and he enjoyed chasing his toy, although when it was thrown the wind carried it all over the place so he had a lot more exercise than usual trying to follow it. 😃
I hope you're all having a peaceful Sunday.

Good evening everyone!

It's still raining but I wanted to tell that I saw a steam train on the railway line behind the flat. It was quite spectacular and lovely to see but I also want to tell about the modern day Flying Scotsman. I was on my way to stay with my friend in Edinburgh and I had just boarded the train at St Pancras in London. There was a gentleman in front of me who had been helping his friends and relatives with their luggage and he said: "I better get off now".

At that point there was a jolt 🤣 and he said: "Oh my god it's moving!" I found my seat and driver announced on the radio: "We're stopping at the next station because there are people on board who shouldn't be here".🤣
