Good morning all,
Another grey, cold day here but at least it's dry.

Nothing very exciting happening today, I'm going to sort out my books and try to part with them.
I love books and have many from my teaching days which are just gathering dust now, so maybe they need a new home. Trouble is I'll start looking through them again and convince myself I still need them. I will try to be ruthless though.😏
Have a good Tuesday. TTFN

Say it isn't so, Lyn! The whole entire point of living is to insulate your house with books!

Well, that an dote on tortoises....

It is supposed to be a one night stay. She won't be allowed to drive for 7 to 10 days. Also no lifting for 6 weeks. I will have my hands full. Trying to get her to obey the doctors orders.
Just tell Rose she doesn't want to be undoing the docs' lovely handiwork with all those stitches - inside and out. It's always best to be a patient patient
Glad to hear you're a bit better Ray.

Good morning all.
It's very wet here today - a good excuse to stay home in the warm.
I hope you all have a good Saturday. TTFN.

I think I might have about 500 books, or more - including a very large number of different (mostly old) editions of Swiss Family Robinson. I started reading very early, and that was my favourite book for many years - due to the stories I could make up for myself related to it. Then I got given a new copy, and found, to my amazement, that the text was a lot different ! The book had originally been written in German, and translated from that to various other languages over time, and every translator changed and added to the plot as they saw fit. So I read and reread both books on my lap at the same time. Although I did read many other books too, eventually, I was always delighted when I found yet another edition of SFR, and especially when I discovered illustrated ones. When I got a chance, I would look in second-hand bookshops - and when I moved to London, I went to the various book fairs there regularly.
This was, of course, pre-internet days !
I don't look for them now, though I have found several recent editions, and bought them, obviously !
So, with those and all the other books I have accumulated over the years,we should be well insulated!

I thought that would be there for days. Must have really warmed up where you are.
We're getting rain in my area today and then it flies to his area. Depending on your temperature is what you get. Supposedly I am going to get freezing rain tonight. We'll see what happens. It's mid February and Sapphire says it's spring.🐢

All I can say to what I've been reading here is I LOVE BOOKS too. I have some that I will never get rid of as long as I live. Several of them I have bought before but lost and had to buy it again. That sucked. Sometimes the older book had facts that some silly editor didn't think were important so he left them out. So.... I think twice about getting rid of a book.

because she's evidently, used to it!

Good man Ray! Sometimes, our wives need to be guided....loved but guided.

LOL
I generally let her run the show. But need to be tough with this situation. I have one thing on my side though. In May her girlfriends, most of the ones that went to New York. That group are going to Spain. So she needs to do what the doctor ordered. Or she might not heal correctly and won't be able to go. So I will use that trip to my advantage as much as needed.
