Yeah, it is called mulperi here, but still they are very rare. You can find them dried or as a jam in some bigger grocery stores. Never seen the berry itself, though I believe further down the south people do sometimes manage to grow the tree itself.
My friend Google says not. Boysenberries are a hybrid that grow on low trailing plants and mulberries grow on trees. You can buy Bbs in the UK apparently but its not something I've ever seen in the shops, but then I probably haven't been looking, I'm not really an eater of any sort of berry.
We had a nice day even if it was a bit cooler. Friends came over for dinner on the grill. After they went home Kerry, her dad and I were sitting on the lower deck just enjoying the wildlife. I hear "skittering" on a tree 40' away and see Rocky Racoon coming down head first of course. Wierd. Anyway Dad gets to see him and he and Kerry go inside. A couple moments later and Rocky is on the deck with me! It was getting dark and all of a sudden there were 2 old fashioned galvanized buckets on the deck....but 1 was not a bucket but Rocky who was using the bucket as cover for him to get close. This isn't the first time he has come onto the deck... He seems just fine and at ease but I know what kind of weaponry he has. I will keep my distance! So chased him off and he moves 5 ft away...
.more chasing got him to head back to the woods. LOL
Today we have a parade and a lunch cruise on a tourist boat.

I'll take a pic when it gets light out....these berries grow on trees, not vines like blackberries. I had a giant one at my old house and we have several here too.

It's a grey, wet day here which is set to last for most of the week - thank goodness. We need all the rain we can get after what has been the driest spring in over a century.
Today is the Spring bank holiday in the UK. Whit Monday used to be the bank holiday but for some reason it changed to the last Monday in May. The schools also have a weeks holiday for half term. I used to count to the days to the holidays when I was a teacher but now everyday's a holiday!!

What is; "weeks holiday for half term"
Is that a 1 week break between semesters?
Our school year is split into 3 terms (semesters) autumn, spring and summer. There are 2 week holidays for Xmas and Easter and a 6 week break at the end of the summer term from the middle of July - September. However there are also 1 week breaks half way through each term. A total of 13 weeks holidays each year.
The dates can vary in other countries of the UK but the amount of school/holiday time is the same.

I met Joe Biden on the river cruise today..
Oh come on....you would have thought so too if you had seen him walk. Turns out there were two 90+ year olds on the boat! We also ran into the Pastor who married us last year and his family. We had a very nice time together.

They probably call them that but mulberries grow on trees. I'm running across the same problem with sweet potatoes vs yams and the grocery store. They label sweet potatoes as yams. And I can't find a store telling the truth of the matter.
Of course I had to Google boysenberries after all the talk and found out I probably wouldn't eat them unless someone knows how to make homemade jelly with NO SEEDS. Even though I love the flavor of all those type of berries like black, raspberry, and boysenberry...

Im trying to figure out how to do an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes with shredded cheese etc. maybe slivers of red onion in the pocket then bake it for a bit. It won't hurt plantain to be cooked more than once.

I had some sad news yesterday in that my former Music Theory teacher and friend of 43 years passed away a week ago. She got me through grades 4 to 7 and I achieved full marks for grade 4. She was so proud of me that she kept reminding me about it as well as telling everyone about for years afterwards.
