Thank you for explaining - I am impressed that you were given training on dealing with the children - I mostly taught in special needs schools, and I was never given training - but there were generally two assistants in the class with me,who were usually very sensible and kind (and bigger than me !) I never got bitten - just bruised a lot. But I loved the children - I am still in touch with some of the families after many years.

The main training we had was called Team Teach. I think it was initially a 2 day course but then we had refreshers every year. It was only ever used as a last resort. More often it was easy to de-escalate potential problems in various ways.

I sometimes see some of my old pupils, but there aren't too many in my area.

Zola had a good walk today, and met a lady from the Seychelles, whose family had an Aldabra ! He also met some young children who very bravely and carefully fed him some cucumber - he is very patient with them (and so is Richard) - I'm sure they will remember the experience for a long time.
Tomorrow, our friend Mervyn, the chimney sweep , is coming, and on Tuesday the car has to go for its service, so there may not be a chance for breakwater walks for a few days .
We shall all be singing Happy Birthday to you here, Natrah , tomorrow - I hope you will hear us.
Lots of love from Angie xxxxxxxxxx

I got the Shingles Vaccine two days after my 50th birthday. I can remember being 12 years old and trying to help wash my mom's back when she had shingles. Nope no way, vaccination please
I'll probably have to wait awhile since I already got the real thing maybe. I'm reading different opinions about how long to wait. The type of colitis I have is an autoimmune disorder so I think I should do what my gaserineroligist thinks. That might be why I have such a crazy case in the first place. They say don't use Google for your doctor and I really don't buttt... There's things I wouldn't have known to even share with my doctors if I hadn't. My advice to anyone is get the vaccine ASAP. But it also might be really hard on me too soon or too late. I don't know which. And by the by 😉🐢🐢💩 your Christmas card is still up in my house 😁

I know without a picture it didn't happen but it did. It was so cute today and I did almost get a picture but my yappy dog wouldn't shut up. A ground hog decided to get himself a Crab apple and sit down and eat it right in broad daylight in my front yard. It was pouring down rain but he didn't care. That dog gone dog needs a bark collar. Just as I got my phone going to get a picture he took off. I'm sure he'll be back because it's for sure I have plenty of crab apple mess out there and I'm glad the critters are helping me with some of the cleanup.😂

I see I miss worded a sentence. It was years that he suffered.
No not really misworded. It is days that could turn into years. I might be partially deaf by the time this is over in my right ear. But deafness is in my family so it's not as devastating to me mentally as it would be if I'd not been around it before.
