I came home for the weekend as we are celebrating our independence day today. Some good food and watching the Festive reception at the presidents castle.

As usual there will be some demonstrations in the capital, a part of the tradition, and I will try to follow them too.
Congrats my Finnish friend! I'm a amateur historian and read that "the snow moved" when USSR invaded Finland! I forget the #'s but it was something like 150k Fins vs 470k Soviets. The "Spirit of the Winter war" rose in your country to harrass and inject uncertainty to the Soviets. Very cool!

Counter demonstrations are usually healthy for a society. I was in Venezuela years ago in Caracas when the demonstrations began by Soldiers lining the streets with automatic weapons before allowing the opposition party the road itself to march. We were in a jewelry store and wasn't sure what was going on outside. It was a little unnerving.

They didn't allow foreigners to protest for obvious reasons. Here in the US we do and with predictable results for when foreign people have a different agenda but they find plenty of "human tools" who willingly selling out their own futures. I kinda wish I'd live to 100 so i can watch how that works out for them but that's mean isn't it? LOL

Usually there are are two bigger demonstrations, that counter each other (two polar opposites). They have a permit from the police, and the police tries to make sure that the two demonstrations don't physically meet each other, since that is when there has been some trouble in the past. They are legal demonstrations, unless things go wrong, or they don't follow their designated path etc.

Good morning all. It's still very wet and windy here - flood alerts keep coming and the river is high but not over the banks yet.

I spent a very pleasant morning with my cousin yesterday. We visited a mansion called Tredegar House where the house and gardens have been decorated for Xmas - very pretty and interesting to see how the 'other half' celebrated Xmas. The last Lord to live there was quite a party animal and lived a very decadent life - his parties would last weeks! Unsurprisingly he lost the family fortune and since then it's been a school, and later opened to the public. Lovely to catch up with my cousin too

Alfie arrived safely yesterday afternoon and has made himself at home. We haven't been able to go for a walk yet because of the weather, but I'm hoping it will at least stop raining long enough for a short walk.
He's not bothered and is snoring away on the sofa at the moment.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend and staying warm and dry.
TTFN

Well, Happy independence day to you and your fellow citizens, lest we all not take that for granted!🎉🥳

Good morning everyone!

After a much better night I am looking forward to teaching (one of the pupils keeps playing Carol Of The Bells), Xmas shopping and collecting my new computer.

Natrah
Carol of the bells is one of my favorites!!! Especially when it is done by a certain Acapella group. I think it's name is the pentatonics. I've got to listen to it now 😁!!!😊

I know how to do that post, but right now TFO is not functioning correctly for me.
I click on the links above and it does nothing, I can't add Emojis. Or change to BOLD, or Italic or add links 😢 This Emoji is from Windows....not TFO

It's prob because of the cache/cookies in your browser. Clearing that should fix it.

Dear PeeWee (@MenagerieGrl)

Does Seymour still try and break into your enclosure and do you still try and have your wicked way with him?

Natrah
PeeWee Has been Sleeping for the last couple of weeks, He did come out on a warmer day for a few hours.
I need to replace the battery (2032) in Seymour's tracker, as it's volume is so low, I can barely hear it with background noise present. Then He will be able to wander the yard till it's time to come in, in the evening

Natrah, you always come up with the most tasty looking treats around. I Love Poppy Seed cake....
BTW, what kind of PC did you get. Mine is old, and am contemplating getting it replaced.
Already had to replace the Keyboard internals on my laptop. One of my parrots got out . . and started plucking keys, and breaking the mounts. that was a 4 hr repair, taking my Laptop completely apart
