Sapphire was up and ready to go outside today. He was visiting areas of his indoor enclosure that he hasn't for awhile. Even though they are much different than they were. He loves his new tree 😊 so I did. Today was his first day outside for the year. IMG_20260413_133445948.jpg

How wonderful to finally be OUT, after such a long slumber.
Seymour has Been up and OUT for weeks now, He climbs the barrier, the heads for the hills. Ever seen a Tortoise run? They can skedaddle when they feel like it. I hate it when He wedges himself in my stand of Black Bamboo in the far back corner if the yard. That means I gotta snake my way in also to retrieve him for the night. (Easier for him than me)

Sapphire got to go out again today. He was up and ready early today. Running around his indoor enclosure.😊 I hope we keep the lovely weather for a few days. I received him in May of 2007 and there was snow on the ground. After I take him out for the first time if it gets cold, I have to look in his little tortoise puppy begging eyes and say no. That sucks 😞 he even stands up as tall as he can pleading and begging to go outside. I can't yet every day. He's not from Ohio.😊

We're having a terrible day today - heavy rain. hailstones. thunder and lightning and the wind's picking up again. Lola didn't leave his hide until about 2 pm and as soon as he'd eaten he scooted back in again so he's not in any hurry to be outside and neither am I.

I have an under stairs cupboard which needs a good sorting out so that's what I'm doing with my time today.

I hope the weather is better in your parts of the world. TTFN

Oh, Yes, he snuck under the fence the other day. The weather here as been so mild, almost warm, that Both PeeWee and Seymour have been Out in their respective areas. It is on the cooler side today, kinda overcast, so I may not put the tortles out in the Tortle tub today. With the rains we had both sides, the water sida and the Bark side were full of water, Sucked out as much as I could from the bark side. When they bury them selves it will be moisture for their . . . .complexion....🤣

Our neighbor is an older couple. He is around 80 or so. He has the nicest lawn and gardens in the neighborhood. He has been watching me install our underground sprinklers then modify the layout as we change our yard over the past couple years.
He began working on a hose and pipe hybrid system this week and I offered to help. He is very independent and spurned the help but gladly took the tools I offered to make it easier for him. I gave him the crimper tool and post hole digger and by yesterday he had 2 sprinklers running! He was BEAMING with pride last night when I walked over to congratulate him. This 80 some year old man dug a 40 foot trench through blue chip gravel. If you've done it than you know how hard it is.

He has 2 pipes and each pipe carries 1 sprinkler head. His water pressures are set too low to handle more but I'm not touching that with a 10ft pole. If i adjust his pressures up and his well pump fails....no, I'm not going there.

He is a nice retired banker with a reclusive but nice wife and he likes having the nicest lawn....and our M/O is to constantly praise him for how nice it is too! We encourage him because we are the beneficiaries!

No N, no one is lucky to have me around....nobody. LOL Kerry thinks it's penance!

We had a rough night sleeping. Jeff fancies himself as a Airflow guru and his wife is frugal. Between the 2 of them they are trying to cool 1700sf with 4500btu's by way of 1 small window unit on the 2nd fl aided by fans. The central unit is set to come on @ 80F.

It was 91F outside here yesterday and if she hadn't cooked for 2 hours using both ovens(she cooks for when she's gone) we might have made it. It got up to 78 during her cooking and never got in front of it again. I got up at 1am and turned on the house AC to cool it off. Yuck.

Enjoy the day guys....

Good afternoon/evening all.
Nothing exciting happening here this weekend. The weather's been better - just one short sharp hail shower today.

I've spent the day doing my nephew's laundry as we still haven't bought him a washing machine yet - hopefully next week.

I was pleased to see that a hedgehog has made it to my garden again this year. I've been leaving a trail camera out at night for the last few weeks to see if any would pop in and was very happy to see quite a healthy looking one sniffing around. There's no way of knowing if it's one from last year but hopefully this one will be a regular visitor too. I've set up the feeding station and left out some dry kitten biscuits to help build him up after his winter hibernation, so watch this space for hedgehog headlines!

I hope you're all having a good weekend. Nos da for now.
