Here in Finland there are people whose profession it is to enable farmers to take a vacation. Basically they travel to a farm, live there and take care of the animals and give the farmer a chance to travel.
My aunt has a small farm with sheep, chicken, pigs, horses and goats. (She used to have outdoor bunnies too). And she has some "house pets" as well including a parrot, cats and dogs. She has hired a service like this a few times to have a vacation or travel to see relatives. She takes her dogs with her when ever possible. Of course this costs money, but it is a great opportunity either way.

Thank you all (Lyn W., Jeff K., Cathy G ) for the words of support. Ida wrote me a nice card, not really saying why they are leaving to go back to Oklahoma, but she gave me her address and wanted to stay in touch, even saying when I have free time :)rolleyes:) to come and visit. It's a beautiful thought, but My niece got married last year, my brother who lives 15 miles away went to the wedding on the east coast, But I could not leave due to the farm, so visiting Oklahoma is sadly unlikely to happen.....
I only have Lola but apart from one night when he came with me I haven't been away since he adopted me in 2014!

Today has been torture!
The record for the highest temps in May has been broken for the second day running - 87f today.
I had a hospital appointment this morning to check my eyes for glaucoma and had to go on the bus because they use eye drops and don't advise driving for a couple of hours after. The buses don't have A/C so I know what the turkey feels like at Xmas - it was like sitting in an oven. 🥵, but then just as hot outdoors. Not a pleasant experience. I couldn't wait to get home for a cold shower which cooled me down and I've stayed indoors all day. I can't wait for our normal temps to return and hope it's been more comfortable in your corners.

Our warm weather is coming, I'm good up to about 95/100° (37°c) above that and I slow down, Now, sleeping at night 80° or below is what I need...
Although as I get older temp affects me more.

I just double checked our temps and it was 91f at hottest part of day. In London it was about 95f. Even the railways were affected by the heat so the trains were running much slower than usual . The UK infrastructure doesn't do well in extreme weather.

Maybe you could be penpals. She obviously likes you. You have her address.😊 Send a card or something. It feels good to get one when you're not expecting it. Sometimes that's just enough to make your day.

I think that has to be one of the best ideas since sliced bread!

Mama deer was out as it got light out this morning but she's deep into the ferns so it's too dark for pics with anything I have.
It's like looking into this- (don't look she's not there, it's just an example)

I have a noon appointment with Dr Chiropractor. Im a little disappointed in him. For my back/siatica he showed me stretches, did ultrasound several times and other treatments....all he had to do was to tell me to actually ride my ebike instead of using the battery all the time! A couple of 3-5 mile rides and it's gone....all of it! Amazing stuff.... Exercise! LOL I didn't pedal it the whole way yet but im doing more and more of the actual work.

Kerry is in Fla till Thurs night....wonder what kind of trouble I can find before she comes home?

Enjoy the day guys!
I looked anyway and you were right 😉 maybe...😊

Good morning/afternoon all. The heat continues here but it's cloudy today. It wouldn't surprise me if we have a thunderstorm. We should be back to normal in a few days.
My hedgehog returned last night and spent a good few hours in my garden, I think they struggle to find invertebrates when it's dry and it looked as if he appreciated the water. I've been leaving water in other parts of my street to help them out and hopefully other neighbours will too.

Good evening everyone!

It's been another boiling hot day here but it is meant to cool down now which is just as well as Jacky and I have to get the bus to the vets tomorrow. The vets is on Canvey Island which is quite a long way from here. She's just going for a checkup before I go away at the end of July and Jacky goes to stay with my friend.

Made some creme bruele with some the eggs the new chickens have provided for us! This is an old Henn Pottery dish I found years ago just for making creme brule
Nice 😊 are you having fun with the lovely little hens? Mine used to dance around my feet as I did my outside chores. How about a cheese souffle? In the dish? Would that work too?😋 I bet.

I love that you take a BUS with a tortoise on it!
🤣

People here are less understanding and would probably kick me right off the bus and tell me to walk or taxi to where I am going and not to bring THAT THING back here any time soon.
That’s what they call my Sally. “That Thing”.
😕☹️😞

She means the world to me and they act like she is of no importance at all in the world.
