That sure is some good stuff! Kerry made a blueberry compote yesterday with some local produce. Then she bought me vanilla ice cream!

Lots of fish...and top third too? Pretty good! How's the boat engine running?
The air here is bad...kerry wouldn't let me do much outside today so I'm not tired yet. I'm thinking about riding my H1 up to the motorcycle shop tomorrow for tires as mine are way past their dates. We'll see.

Yes. Im praying for the people too. If we in Ohio are getting smoke so bad we're having air alerts.... Just think what Canadians are going through! It's causing a war of words between our friends in upper America.

Good morning all.
The temps have dropped slightly but it's still higher than usual.
We really need some rain now. We had a few large drops a couple of days ago which I thought was going to be a good downpour but it only lasted for about a minute!
I need to go to the shops to buy some tort supplies as the weeds are suffering with the heat so are thinning out, but Tesco doesn't open until 10 a.m. on a Sunday. It will still be a bit cooler than later though.
The canary is still here. I think I may end up keeping him . So a new cage will be needed.
He's quite happy - singing along to the radio and eating well.
I've never wanted a bird and hoped I could return him home, but no one seems to be looking for him..
I never wanted a tortoise either but Lola and I have just celebrated 12 years together!
Where has that time gone? How my life has changed too - not always for the better because I haven't had a proper holiday since then....only short trips that he could come with me. Still, I wouldn't be without him now.

Richard and I never thought we would have a pet, because we knew we would be so distressed when it died. We did hatch several stick insects, and were able to keep them for a while, but that was all -and we did feed the many birds in our garden. So we went to the pet shop where we bought bird food one day, and the owner said "I've got some baby tortoises -would you like to see them?" It had only recently become legal to sell them, and we had never seen any. Love at first sight - especially of the one with a damaged shell and a swollen eye - and our lives changed in that moment ! Engine is wonderful, nice and quiet 4 cycle. Gained about 12 mph. That makes us faster than most of the charter boats. Feels great passing the charter captains and being able to pick where we want to fish before them. Still smokey here.

Today on lake Michigan the sun tried to get through the smoke.
The smoke should be clear this morning after the rain. We had friends over yesterday and Paul was trying to run the grill while I held the umbrella for him. He's a master on the grill so yes, I ran "support".
Kerry got a gift in the mail, a baby announcement from the Chinese girl that lived with her while she went to school here. She came last year and introduced her fiance. So they made plans for us all to go to dinner in Annapolis tomorrow evening. Kerry did this today as a gift
I told ya'll she is Wonder Woman! Neat gift before her and her family go back to China on Tues. That will be fun!
The smoke was better early today but its mostly back this evening. I was kinda bored today since my playmate was upstairs sewing all day. I moved my working powerhead for my lawn robots to the front and let that guy cut the grass. Then i moved it back to the backyard and let that robot do the rear. That was my big project of the day! LOL

Yeah I have had enough of the smoke. But the trade off was worth it salmon fishing with my son and granddaughters. Going down state in Michigan tomorrow. One of my sons said the smoke isn't bad down state. Right now we are about 3.5 hrs north of where we are headed tomorrow. Hopefully the smoke is better or I will have to be selective of what I do.

The girls are out pickleballing this morning. Im moving so slowly that Matt beat me walking one end of his home to the other!
It's cold out this morning...64F a very welcome relief after the heat. In about 2 weeks we will learn how expensive all that air conditioning was thru all those 100 degree days.
The World Cup final was boring. Spain so outplayed Argentina that it looked like a Pro team playing a College(Uni for our friends) team. It was "right" that they won. Had it not been for the Argentine goalie it would have been a slaughter!
We are glad that the WC games were played here. What a cool thing to secure for your country....
. So who else knew Fernandez would go out before halftime on the polymarkets? Paid over a million dollars. Yeah, makes us wonder about that. Of course i also wonder why AI can't be programmed to follow 1 basic law to do no harm since it and it's creator's are so smart but they instead tell us how it will end us. Doesn't seem very bright.
