Yes, the 'fines' of the chop is dependent on the size of the tortoise. Best to err on the side of too fine. A 'normal' bite would be the indication of a good size.

Yup. Wash 'em, put 'em in a large pot with chicken broth and ham hocks and simmer all day. M-m-m-m-m it's good!!!

@Tom When you say “grape” does that include everything in the grape family- such as muscadine? Or is it just a specific species you are referring too?

This question came up the other day. I have no experience to draw from, but a quick search makes it seem like it would be okay.

I'd like to hear from more people like Maro that have been using it for years and had no issues.
