LOVE LOVE LOVE his spikes.....and three words come to mind ; Sir chunk a dunk (okay, 4 words...lol) in all seriousness, he is beautiful. Where did you get him from as a baby? Perhaps he is from that gigantanormous line :D

Thanks Angela! You crack me the hell up! I honestly don't know if this place is good or bad, but this is where King Kong Cooper came from, www.the-woodysreptiles.com
I would love to know what his bro's and sis's look like now! :)

Thank you! I too am amazed at his size. I didn't expect him to be this size at this age! He just seems to gain like a pound a month, if not more. Good luck with your 4 kid's! :)

I wonder if you checked with the breeder if he would have heard anything from Coops brother and sisters?????? I looked at the site, interesting--appears that he combines old and new ways, pretty torts. However, while looking at the pics I tried to check out the spikes on their legs, none come even close to Coop....:D

Well since we were talking about it, I decided to email James from Woody's Reptiles and sent him 2 pictures of Cooper and told him how much he weighed and how long he is. This was his reply:
"Chris, Do you live near a nuclear power plant? That thing is huge! What are you feeding it? I have some holdbacks from last year that are about 4-5" long. Your tortoise looks good though. I would expect to see large pyramids from that extreme growth but yours has a nice shell. They normally grow about 2-3" inches a year. How often do you feed it? What do you feed it? Thanx, James, Woody's Reptiles."

I thought some of you would find this funny, or maybe interesting, coming from the breeder I got Cooper from. I got a kick out of his response. Have a great day!

Wow, Cooper has grown a lot! Soon it will be hard to cuddle with him :p

That's for sure! He still loves sleeping in bed. Once he is comfy he lays there as long as he can! And if we are in the living room watching tv he will lay on the big pillow as close to my head as he can. He is something else! :)

Well, I measured and weighed Cooper today, he is 12 inch's long and is 10.7lbs. So hard to believe my little 16 month old boy is this big already! He dont think he is big though. He still thinks he has to crawl up on my arm and sleep. Today we came back in the house, had his bath, and I let him run around in the living room. And like normal, he walks around for a whole 5 minutes looking things over and then has to be right where I am at. I had 3 of the couch pillows on the floor on the heating blanket and he just had to be on mine with me. Then when I got up to go outside to smoke, he had to walk over to the gate and watch and wait on me to come back inside. So I layed back down on the floor on my pillow and he walks back over to our lay down area and gets back on my pillow and goes to sleep. He is such a spoiled little boy! Hope when my time comes he will be able to make up to my wife or the person that takes my place without any problems. I know a lot of people dont think they have many feelings, but in Cooper's case, I will disagree 100%! :)
Have a great day my forum friends!!
I'm totally with you on the feelings thing! They definitely care about the people who take care of them. Does Cooper not poop and pee while he's walking around on the floor? Franklin sure does:rolleyes:

Well, Cooper always gets a bath before he gets out on the floor, so that's an everyday thing. He has pee'd on the floor once in the past 5 months. He is a really good boy! :)
Now when I take him to the kitchen he knows to walk to the door, and when I open the door he walks right out. I have to say, I had to have got the smartest tort out of his breed group! Well I am getting ready to wiegh and measure Cooper for his 19th month, I will post it later today. Have a great day forum friends! :)

Your the first person I know that got a Sulcata from there. He told me that he has 3 of Coopers siblings and that the biggest one is close to 6 inch's.

Here are some pic's from the last 2 day's. He likes to stick his tongue out for the camera lol!

Lol mine loves walk rocking too. It's like he seeks out the driveway:) supposedly when I got mine, he was a yr old and I've had him for 9 months. He's gained a little less than 3 lbs and weighs 3lbs6oz now. He's a mere pipsqueak compared to Cooper (who looks and sounds amazing). Thanks for the tips on what to do before I let my man roam the inside and pics of Coop!
